Product and operations
01What does L3 Backups store?
Validated versions of registered equipment configurations, associated with the company environment and device. Output that fails semantic rules is not accepted as a valid backup.
02What does semantic validation check?
It looks for known failures, missing required markers, incomplete output, and unexpected responses. If a collection is rejected, the reason remains available and the last valid backup is preserved.
03Does Dry Run create a backup or change history?
No. It runs the template on the real device with the same backup engine, shows sanitized output, protects secrets, supports cancellation, and recovers state after a page refresh.
04How does SSH confirm the device identity?
The platform validates and pins the Host Key. A change is detected and handled through an incident, notification, and planned rotation; credentials are sent only after the host is trusted.
05Can collection be manual and automatic?
Yes. Authenticated users can start a manual collection, and each device can have a schedule, time window, time zone, and retry after failure.
06Does the system restore the configuration on the device?
There is no confirmed automatic restoration. The system lets users inspect, compare, and download the file to guide manual recovery.
07Does retention mean a number of days?
No. Retention is the maximum number of versions kept per device. This site does not promise a duration in days.
08Does it work with any device?
No. The homologated combinations are MikroTik RouterOS v7, Cisco ASR IOS XE, and VSOL V1600G0 OLT over SSH. Other vendors, models, and versions require template and collection validation.
09Can I create my own template?
Yes. Administrators can create, import, and export templates with commands, pagination, and validation rules. A custom template does not automatically make the combination homologated.
10Is Telnet recommended?
No. Telnet is a technical option for legacy equipment, but it does not encrypt traffic. Prefer SSH and assess risk before homologating Telnet.
11Can I download my backups?
Yes. You can open history, view and download validated versions, and compare changes between backups.
12How are credentials protected?
Username, password, enable secret, host, IP, and TOTP are treated as sensitive and protected with Google Cloud KMS.
13Which region does the service operate in?
The Brazilian operational region uses infrastructure in São Paulo. Administrative, commercial, security, and provisioning data may be processed by the Control in Miami, United States.
14Who processes payments?
Stripe processes payments. Card details are entered directly in the provider’s secure environment.
15Are there per-device or per-group permissions?
There is no evidence of granular permissions. Administrator and user roles exist; groups organize the view and do not change permissions.
16What does it cost and what are the limits?
Founders and Basic cost R$ 69.90/month; Professional costs R$ 129.90/month; and Advanced costs R$ 199.90/month. Their device/user limits are 20/3, 5/2, 20/5, and 50/10 respectively. Every plan includes 30 backups per device and 25 MB per collection.
17How long is the trial?
It lasts 14 days and requires no card. Counting starts on assisted activation. At expiry, new runs and operational changes stop, and the Environment remains read-only for 30 days before purge.
18Does L3 Backups claim legal compliance or an SLA?
No. Available documentation does not confirm a public policy, certification, SLA, or RPO/RTO, so those promises are not made.
